What is rarely heard works the deepest. Air4Six reopens a forgotten chapter: intimate a cappella ensemble music by Flemish composers from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Six parts spin intense, delicate textures in the work of Benoit, Meulemans, De Vocht, De Boeck, Mortelmans, and Tinel, which sweeps across a wide spectrum of styles and emotions. With this free heritage concert, we honor a beautiful Bijloke tradition and champion sounding heritage from our own soil – hurray for ourselves! Flemish Romantic songs and choral music by Benoit, Meulemans, De Vocht, De Boeck, Mortelmans and others.
